We passed this ship as we rounded the top of the Berrys:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0406.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3204\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0406-1024x687.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0406\" width=\"625\" height=\"419\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3204\" srcset=\"http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0406-1024x687.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0406-300x201.jpg 300w, http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0406-768x516.jpg 768w, http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0406-624x419.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>By the way, all of the keys in the Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean are spelled Cay, but pronounced \u201ckey\u201d, and the difference between a cay (or key) and an island is that an island has it\u2019s own source of fresh water.  Most of the water in the Bahamas is made through a process called \u201creverse osmosis\u201d where the sea water is pushed through a very fine filter at high pressure, thus leaving the salt and elements behind.<\/p>\n<p>We crossed a part of the ocean that is called the Northwest Passage, and most of the passage was well over 1,000 feet deep.  I think the deepest part we crossed was over 21,000 feet deep.  It is actually kind of creepy to think about.  The depth sounder on the boat just read DEEP, as if to say, \u201cdon\u2019t even worry about it\u201d:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0422.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3205\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0422-1024x687.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0422\" width=\"625\" height=\"419\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3205\" srcset=\"http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0422-1024x687.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0422-300x201.jpg 300w, http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0422-768x516.jpg 768w, http:\/\/nauticalendeavors.com\/islandbound\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_0422-624x419.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At 4:30 we arrived at Cross Harbour and anchored in about 8 feet of water.  We were the only people around for miles.
